Ahn Jung-geun (Korean: 안중근; September 2, 1879 – March 26, 1910) was a lieutenant general in the Korean independence movement army. On October 26, 1909, he assassinated Itō Hirobumi—the first Resident-General of Korea via Japan who pushed the signing of the Eulsa Treaty—at Harbin railway station.
